New Hampshire is one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant crimsons and golds of fall. How about a spectacular Fall foliage trip by train? Let someone else do the driving!
Enjoy a scenic and nostalgic train ride along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee on tracks that brought vacationers to New Hampshire’s Lakes Region beginning in 1890. Once aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, you’ll enjoy a scenic excursion along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee – traveling from Meredith through Weirs Beach to Lakeport and back.
The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad offers 1-hour round-trip Fall Foliage train rides on weekends & holidays after Labor Day (Sept. 5, 2016) from the Weirs Beach Station at 211 Lakeside Avenue, Weirs Beach, NH 03247.
The foliage peaks at different times in different parts of the granite state. Generally, the best times to view the fall colors are near the end of September in the far north, the beginning of October in the White Mountain region, and the middle of October in the south.
